Repeat Leaving Certificate in O'Connell School, Dublin
O’Connell Secondary School, located in the heart of Dublin City near Croke Park and in close proximity to Connolly, Clontarf and Drumcondra Train, Luas and DART Stations, offers boys and girls the affordable opportunity to repeat their Leaving Certificate in one year. This is a stand-alone programme run in a separate section of the school. A full and wide range of subjects and levels are available from very experienced teachers who have helped pupils to dramatically improve their grades and CAO points. Our reputation for excellence has been built upon our proven track record over the past 14 years. We deliver high standards of teaching and motivation and in return we expect high levels of punctuality, dedication and focus.
We truly believe that once inspired and motivated effectively, all students have the ability to achieve their own personal goals. At the beginning of the year students attend a series of seminars on study/exam skills and techniques. In addition, throughout the year, we provide constant supervision, caring support structures with a dedicated tutor and a safe and secure environment for teaching and learning to take place. All students have full use of the school’s excellent canteen facilities where hot meals, drinks and sandwiches are available daily.
Supervised study and evening study takes place every day in a controlled and silent environment. Comprehensive career guidance is a core part of the programme and the individual career needs of each student are carefully explored. Our spacious and bright classrooms are equipped with digital projectors and our three science laboratories have just been completely renovated and equipped to the highest standards in the country. Assessment takes place on a monthly basis with mock exams in October, December and February. Our student-focused approach ensures that the environment of the programme is entirely one of mutual respect and encouragement. At all times we endeavour to maintain constant contact with parents/guardians and discuss any concerns that may arise. Parents are welcome to meet with the Principal and teachers at the dedicated parent-teacher meeting before Christmas or indeed at any time throughout the year. For further details contact the Principal, Gerry Duffy, on 01-8748307.
